  • ARTS FOR ALL: 7-9 pm Learn about contemporary art by participating in hands-on art activity inspired by contemporary artists.  Open to all skill levels. 
    Miami-Dade County Art Educators may earn MPP points. 
    $10 per class for MOCA member, $12 General Admission, $3 Students with ID.

  • CONTEMPORARY ART BOOT CAMP: 7:30 pm Lecture series on themes and techniques that dominate art today.  
    $10 per lecture for MOCA members, City of North Miami residents and employees; $12 for non-members.  $3 for college students with ID.
  • 5 MINUTES OF FAME ARTIST FORUM: 7 pm Local artists explain how and why they create their art. Free with Museum Admission
  • TIME FOR DESIGN: 7 pm Join us for Time for Design,  an open forum for creative  people involved in the areas of architecture, interior design, fashion, graphics, jewelry, furniture ceramics and class. This event is open to the public and is free with museum admission.

NEW DAYTIME FIGURE DRAWING CLASSES
Starting January 2010 / Tuesdays 10 am - Noon

Each four-class series explores a different theme and is designed for all skill levles.  Materials are provided for participants.  A nude model is present for the first and third session of each series. $45 per series for MOCA members; $60 for non-members.  Read more +

TEACHER TRAINING WORKSHOPS

MOCA’s Assistant Curator of Education, Lark Keeler, will be offering teacher training/professional development opportunities throughout the year.  These workshops are free for MOCA members and $10 for non-members.  RSVP required.

WORKSHOP

Launched in 2008, WORKSHOP is MOCA’s seminar series featuring museum curators, local artists and guest speakers in the presentation and discussion of topics related to MOCA exhibitions.  WORKSHOP was developed from the need for a more in-depth forum of contemporary art.   Free with museum admission, and held on select weekend afternoons at 2 pm. ART TALK

Art Talk lectures by noted artists and critics are offered throughout the season in conjunction with major exhibitions. Past  speakers include Helen Frankenthaler, Michael Fried, Enoc Perez, Merce Cunningham, Malcolm Morely and Albert Oehlen.  Free with museum admission unless noted otherwise. Read More +

DOCENTS

Docents learn about MOCA exhibitions and contemporary art in-depth, while refining their public speaking skills.  Training sessions are held weekly on Monday and Saturday afternoons.

VOLUNTEERS

Volunteers participate in special events and behind-the-scenes projects, while enjoying the opportunity to interact with other art enthusiasts.
