Youth Education Manager

The Youth Education Manager is a highly flexible administrator and will work in tandem with the Director of Education and Community Engagement to ensure all workshops, outreaches, camps, classes, and other youth educational programs run smoothly and effectively. MOCA North Miami seeks a creative, organized individual who has experience both inside and outside an arts classroom.

Major Areas of Responsibility:

· This position oversees four youth programs at MOCA: MOCA Teen Art Force, MOCA Summer Art Camps, MOCA miniMakers and Sunday Stories, and MOCA at the Library.

· Hire all MOCA Educators and ensure that the educator’s curriculum fits the MOCA mission. Ensure training and progress is clearly tracked and maintained

· Train Museum Associates in any tasks related to the youth education programs, in partnership with the Guest Experience Manager

· Hire Summer Camp Manager and Associate Manager to supervise day-to-day camp programming, MOCA Summer Educators, and camp counselors. Ensure volunteer registration and training is clear.

· Lead in the development of all youth program curricula in collaboration with the Director of Education.

· Assist in the development of promotional materials in collaboration with the communications department.

· Build out program registration forms in Altru for all youth education programs, including webforms and discounts as needed.

· Aid in supervision and instruction of programs including those that occur on weekends.

· Manage all data tracking for education department grants, including ensuring all service projects, field trips, and visiting artists are properly scheduled and all attendance, dates, and surveys tracked, and all data is submitted clearly and correctly to the development department.

· Attend all county-mandated grant training sessions.

· Track and maintain budgets within youth education programs. This includes tracking invoices and maintaining accurate actuals, in collaboration with the finance department.

· Maintain visual documentation of all youth education programs in tandem with the communications department.

· Seek opportunities for external partnerships to further youth education programs, in coordination with the Director of Education and Community Engagement.

· Manage relationships with partner organizations as they pertain to youth education programs.

· Support the development of a volunteer and internship program within the museum.

· Order and track all art supply purchases.

· Help prep for workshops, outreaches, and other programs with the Education Department.

· Work with the Director of Education and Community Engagement to ensure strategic goals are being met.

· Be well informed on other MOCA programs and actively communicate opportunities at MOCA with guests.

· Assist at any museum events as assigned.

· Any other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· Must have 4 years of experience in the Visual Arts field.

· Minimum 3 years of experience working with children in an educational setting.

· Effective written and oral communication skills.

· Be able to work collaboratively and inclusively with all constituent groups of students, teachers, museum staff and visitors.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. Preferably a bachelor’s in education, Art, Art History or a related discipline.

· Position may require occasional lifting of 25 pounds or less.

Desired:

· Bilingual in English and Spanish or Haitian Creole.

· Knowledge of Altru.

· Knowledge of Miami-Dade County grant process.

This is a full-time, salaried position requiring some evening and weekend hours. A level 2 background check will be required upon offer of employment.

Reports to: Director of Education and Community Engagement

Supervises: MOCA Educators, Summer Camp Staff, and other contracted vendors as needed.

Compensation: $50,000 - $55,000 annual salary, commensurate with experience and including an excellent benefits package

Community Programs Manager

The Community Programs Manager is a public facing role that includes precise administrative management surrounding all aspects of community engagement programs. Reporting to the Director of Education and Community Engagement, they will be responsible for MOCA Tours and Community Outreach Programs, both onsite and offsite spanning from youth to seniors. This position will work closely with other departments to ensure high-quality guest experience and accurate data reporting. A successful candidate will be highly organized and detail oriented, as well as highly collaborative and creative.

Major Areas of Responsibility

The Community Programs Manager will:

· Manage all aspects of community education programs, including the Junior Docent Program, the MOCA Seniors Program, MOCA Tours, and the Community Outreach Programs, and collaborate with the department to track supply orders, budget tracking, and staffing.

· Assist in the ideation and management of the MOCA Makers adult hands on workshop program which occurs once a month.

· Lead in the ideation, execution, research and management of exhibition interactives in tandem with Director of Education and Exhibition Department, and Communications Department.

· Build out tour scheduling systems and processes, and schedule and assist in museum tours and workshops in the CRM, including outreach for tour reservations.

· Create exhibition informed workshops in tandem with Director of Education and Community Engagement and the Youth Education Manager.

· Assist in the training, scheduling and management of a cohort of part-time and independent contractor staff, who are responsible for offering tours, providing departmental support, and conducting art workshops, as well as supporting other departments as necessary.

· Attend strategic community partnership meetings in assistance to the Director of Education, to identify public programming and outreach opportunities.

· Assist the education department’s community engagement efforts by occasionally serving as a liaison to schools or city programs.

· Work in collaboration with all departments to implement processes and procedures that further the museum’s strategic goals.

· Create appropriate registration pages in the museum’s CRM/POS in collaboration with other departments.

· Lead internal exhibition tour training across departments, including internal tour guides.

· Serve as the main contact point for independent contractors working community programs.

· Develop an evaluation method to assess program strengths and identify areas for improvement.

· Clearly track and report on adult and public program data and budgets.

Qualifications

· 3-5 years of experience in a museum program or an arts education environment

· Superior verbal communication skills, as well as professional interpersonal skills.

· Experience working with POS/CRM systems

· Ability to work well in a small, entrepreneurial team environment.

Requirements

· Bachelor’s Degree required or significant relevant experience

· Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite

· Experience with POS/CRM systems

Desired

· Bilingual in English and Spanish or Haitian Creole

· Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat Pro

Director of Finance

The Director of Finance is a dynamic and experienced member of MOCA’s team that plays a crucial role in overseeing all operational aspects of the museum’s finances. The Director is an expert in in database management, financial controls and best practices. The ideal candidate ensures compliance while fostering a culture of support and collaboration across departments. The Director participates in the short-and-long term financial planning of the organization and drives financial sustainability to support our mission.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities

Financial Planning: Strategy & Budget

• Develop, in collaboration with the Deputy Director, financial strategy to support the organization's goals and long-term sustainability.

• Lead the preparation of the annual budget.

• Oversee implementation of financial plans and annual budgets for each department.

• Monitor and analyze financial performance across departments and provide regular reports.

Financial Reporting

• Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.

• Provide regular updates for various internal and external stakeholders on all finance functions and activities.

Financial Operations: Accounting and Finance

• Oversee all accounting and finance functions of the organization (including the 501(c)3 and the City of North Miami requirements).

• Ensure all fiscal practices meet the highest standard of integrity and compliance.

• Oversee and implement financial policies and procedures that maintain an effective internal control environment and oversee adherence to policies.

• Continually work toward promotion of efficiency and effectiveness of all finance functions, via process and workflow improvements.

• Provide accounting and financial related assistance to other departments, including participation in training staff on fiscal procedures and budget management as needed.

• Perform year-end accounting system close, including the production of 1099 forms.

• Lead annual audit preparation and Form 990 submission.

• Process payroll.

• Develop and maintain effective tools for managing grants, supporting grant budget preparation, tracking, and reporting.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. MBA or CPA preferred.

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant, progressive work experience, in the nonprofit sector.

• Strong knowledge of nonprofit accounting principles, regulations, and best practices.

• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.

• Proficiency in financial software.

• Exceptional communication skills with the ability to present financial information clearly to diverse audiences.

• Strategic thinker with a track record of driving financial sustainability and growth.

• Ability to work well in a small, fast-paced, entrepreneurial team environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business (or equivalent experience)

• High-level experience using accounting software

• Mastery of Microsoft Office Suite

Desired

• Masters Degree or Certified Public Accountant Certification

• Experience with Financial Edge NXT, EDEN, and Altru

This is a full-time, salaried position, with hours typically Monday-Friday 9:30am-5:30pm. The position will require some early morning, late evening, and weekend hours as necessary due to museum events or other relevant meetings. While generally an in-person position, the museum does provide provisions for occasional hybrid work. A level 2 background check will be required upon the offer of employment.
