Overview
Inspired by queer artist Sharmistha Ray’s Automatic Writings series, families will create colorful abstract artworks using patterns, shapes, symbols, and expressive mark-making. Participants will experiment with automatic drawing techniques by letting their hands move freely across the paper, creating layered “cosmic landscapes” inspired by feelings, memories, music, and imagination.
Using a variety of drawing materials, and repeated shapes inspired by sacred geometry, artists will build vibrant compositions that reflect emotion, movement, and personal storytelling. This activity encourages mindfulness, creativity, and self-expression through intuitive artmaking.
